Studying abroad in Ireland, want to visit the Schengen area, how long can I stay?
I ll be studying abroad in Ireland for a total of 87 days. I know my maximum visit in Ireland is 90 days. If I want to do an extra week in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Italy, will I only have 3 days to do that or will I have a full 90 days because I have not been in the Shengen area while in Ireland? I m just confused if my trip can only last 90 days or if I technically have 180 days between the two areas.

Ireland is not in the Schengen area so both the study and the trip are two separate things, so all you need is a schengen visa to visit the other countries. Check if you need a study visa for Ireland - you don't say which country you come from.
