Can I bring my pennyboard 28in to the airport like it is or do I have to take the truck off just in case for security?

What did you expect to do with it.? You can check it as luggage. Many Airlines do not allow it as part of carry on. You can walk around with it. In most parts of the terminals you cannot ride it. Package it well for the plane.

You aren't able to ride skateboards in the terminal if that's what you were thinking. It's an airport, not a skatepark. You would be able to check it as luggage for an extra fee but I doubt they'll allow it to be put in a carryon.
