He cheated by using PEDs, and when he was caught, he lied about it. Barry Bonds, Mark McGwire and anyone else who was caught using PEDs should never be allowed into the Hall of Fame, and the record books should be stripped of their stats. Bonds was a nasty person, probably due to the steroid use. He was among the most hated athletes by the baseball journalists community.
