Well we don't have enough information about you. Maybe you don't know how to have a conversation that's interesting to both parties. Maybe your jokes could use some work. Maybe you dress strangely. Maybe you hold some reprehensible beliefs. Maybe you just smell bad. Who knows? You could be outwardly nice, smart and/or quiet and still suffer from any or all of the above. But that's okay. People have these problems, especially young people. You just need to work on yourself. Charm, hygiene, humor... these are all skills and people who are good at these are universally popular, even if what you do with your spare time is weird or if you hold unpopular beliefs. You can work on your ability to get others to like you, it's a skill. It's clear that you DO care somewhat about what other people think of you, otherwise you wouldn't be asking this question. And that's perfectly okay, too. It's good to take some pride in what people think about you. It's what gets you that good job or that sweet apartment. It's an important part of a human being's life. There's no shame in that. It also nets you life-long friends and eventually a monogamous partner.
