Are banks required to provide interpreters? My father wants me to translate for him and refuses to use the interpreter. Is he allowed to?
Goose
Nope.
Steve D
No they are not required to provide an interpreter. If your father refuses to use an interpreter, that is his choice also (although unless he has a financial background and good English skills, it would be foolish not to use a translator).
pearlmar
No they are not.
STEVEN F
There are 2 separate questions here. Even if banks were legally required to offer an interpreter, your father wouldn't be required to accept the offer. On the other hand, even if you were present to act as an interpreter, the bank my decide to have someone that speaks his language present to ensure they are getting a proper translation.
Tavy
Yes he can refuse if you want to do it. It's not compulsory to use their interpreters.

i dont see why you cant interpret
greenfrogs
I think it'd be okay
