Why does emotional dependence on parents seem so epidemic?
Even if someone is functionally independent, it still seems like so many people still have underlying ed on parents.

Because today's version of society has warped itself away from the traditional extended family living in their own home town. Parents are an incredibly valuable long term resource, nurture them. Teen rebellion extended to age 40 is what's become epidemic!
