Here is an idea. Rather than asking people who didn't write or read some piece of information you claim to vaguely remember, try asking the actual people who made the claim. They likely had a very detailed and well-reasoned argument as to why this would be true. They might have even shown you multicolored charts and given you sweeties while pointing out that beef is dropping in demand in your country.
