What kind of spider is this ? It's outside my kitchen window in minus 2 degrees still alive?

My brother has a lot of them hanging on the walls during cold spells. People don't realize insects seek heat in whatever form.. You're probably leaking heat through the window. The picture is bad, but I'm pretty sure it's harmless, and, if anything, beneficial by doing pest control :) We have a bridge that spans ab out 2.5 miles with a walkway. That walkway is covered with bulbous thorax spiders like the one in the pic.How they survive the winter on the bridge, I have no idea. Maybe they don't and just reproduce really fast.
