The Sun lies at the Focus of Earth's orbit The Copernicus Telescope is actually orbiting Earth However it is therefore Space Based

False. The Sun is at one focus of Earth's elliptical orbit, not the center. True. The Copernicus telescope and satellite is space based.
tham153: Sun at center
Sun at center: False, as anyone acquainted with Kepler's 401 year old laws knows Copernicus telescope: true

1) The sun lies in the center of the Earth's elliptical orbit? T or F Ehhh...sort of... Strictly speaking: the correct answer is "False." Strictly speaking, the center of the Earth's elliptical orbit is the center of mass of the Solar System (comotss) and note that that Sun also orbits about comotss. It just so happens that the Sun is much closer to comotss than are any of the planets. Because of the rather...weird orbit of the Sun about comotss, on occasion comotss is actually within the Sun (i.e. the Sun occupies the same point as comotss), but at other times that is not so. So strictly speaking the correct answer is "False". Note that your teacher might not be aware of this reality of cosmology. Your teacher might (mistakenly) expect an answer of "True". For the best grade, answer as your teacher has instructed you (even if your teacher mistakenly thinks that the correct answer is "True"). 2) The Copernicus ultraviolet telescope was a space based project? T or F? True https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orbiting_Astronomical_Observatory#OAO-3_(Copernicus)

(a) False, the sun is at one focus. (b) True, even though it was many years ago.
