Getting shot at or blown up. Personally, I served in the Army and I loved it.

Army - Sleep in Tents, Crawl through Mud, Eat MRE's. Navy - Family Separation during ship deployments. Air Force - Can't think of any. USMC - Same as Army or worse and more often.
