Which new surface to choose, for walkway to front door? Want to choose a better better kind of surface?

To get to the front door, you have to step on a walkway. The walkway surface is small tiny rocks glazed together. It's very hard and difficult to walk on, and it's easy to slip and fall. I don't want anyone to fall! So, what surface do you recommend to replace the small rocky surface? Are there surfaces that are easy to walk along?
