How long can you take over the counter cold and flu medicine?
I took it for 10 days. For the first 3-4 days, i felt like i needed it but slowly cut back on it. It usually takes me a week or 2 weeks to get better from a cold...

Cold and flu medicine is not a cure and you shouldn't need it for 10 days! It only helps you with the worst of the symptoms, so you can stop taking it when you begin to feel a little bit better. It's not effective against cough and that's usually the last thing to go. As a rough rule of thumb, a cold takes 3 days to take hold, 3 days at its peak and 3 more days to go, so what's left at the end of 2 weeks is probably only lingering cough.
