Would be a good ideal to post pictures of the coin as there are a few coins from Great Britain, plus whatever British Commonwealth territories issued coinage during Victoria's reign. In 1845, Canada was still British territory. First, you need to know what country or territory issued it. Then, you need to know the denomination, ie 1 pence, half a pence, ect

It's a British coin dated 1845 depicting Victoria. Without being able to see both sides of it, I can tell you that Great Britain issued it and it would have been valid currency in all of its territories - Canada, Australia, India and other colonies would not issue their own coins with Victoria and later monarchs on them until a later time - but that's all I can tell you. If I can see both sides, I can give you the currency denomination, the metal composition, the size specifications if you want to know them, the mintage figures if they are available, an estimate of condition grade and an estimate of value.
