I’ve had electronics not work when they haven’t been used for years, i don’t even know how but i believe dust and temperatures play a role. But a coffee machine isn’t that fragile, just clean it and it’ll work.

just wash it a few times. run vinegar through it and then distilled water and it will be ok.
