Are German and English sausages the same thing?
David S
The various recipes and the taste of them in the two countries are totally different
John P
There are many (dozens of?) varieties of sausage in Britain, made to regional recipes. I think the same applies in Germany.
Ludwig
no. For example, a Cumberland sausage is only associated with Cumberland in England, as there is no Cumberland in Germany. Also, a Bratwurst is normally to be found in Germany, because it is German.
Clive
A sausage is a sausage. And both countries have many varieties of them.
Roman
Definitely not
Maxi
No
Siddhartha
No, German sausage (wursts) by law must contain 100% pork or beef.
snafu
No. Superficially there are similarities but some of German sausages can be massive. Why? I don’t know, there’s never a roll big enough to put them in.
