What are the Top 5 (most popular) HERBS that are used for cooking in the U.S?
heart o' gold
Parsley, sage, rosemary, thyme & orgegano.
John: By sales
By sales: cilantro, Italian parsley, chives, basil, rosemary/thyme. (those last two always go together so I count them as one). Dill and sage have some respect but poor sad oregano is left all by it's lonesome, only loved by dive pizza joints.

I cannot speak for others, but I am American-born, Canadian-immigrated. Cook a LOT, and cook a variety, and cook from scratch. MY top 5 herbs are always fresh (I grow them in pots in my windowsill): - Curly parsley - Basil - Rosemary - Thyme - Oregano
