Does Nathan Phillips remind you of Cletus from the Simpsons?

Remember in the Simpsons' Movie when the idiot proof barricade prevented Cletus from reaching the lake and he said, "I can't. I simply can't?" And, then, he proceeded to be unable to walk around the completely ineffective barrier and he just was flummoxed. Nathan Phillip's was just as stupid because he walked directly into a crowd and was unable to turn around and walk out the way he came even though there was nothing stopping him...or he was lying.
