Can anyone help me find out the name of a movie?

For the life of me, there was a movie I saw a very long time ago and I can only remember a vague detail. From what I can recall, there was this man who I think was in the military or was a sniper (or something of that nature). And he had this woman with him who had a baby (it wasn t his.) And I think he was trying to protect her or they were running away from some group of people. But the woman ends up captured and is executed and the man is left with her baby. And that s all I can remember of it. I don t know who starred in it. I think it had to have been made either in the 1980s or 90s. So it s not a recent movie. I m sorry I can t remember anything else.
