The last sentence provided by Anonymous does not need a comma. That's just a problem with two meanings of a word. It can be clarified be making it "get off his horse." Because you asked for examples I will give you some with a dependent clause that needs to be separated by a comma. Although most people don't know how to use punctuation properly it can be really important to communicate clearly. Short introductory phrases don't technically need commas but it's often better and clearer to put one in anyway.
