Are there any student loan options for mature students to study abroad?
By “mature” I mean over the age of 21, which is usually what universities designate us as. I’m 25 and I’ve been saving to study abroad in Japan, but someone told me to look into loans, scholarships and financial aid options. Are anyone familiar with these for Japan specifically? I probably couldn’t get a private loan due to a not so great credit score.

US? Student loans cannot be used for study abroad. You apply through your US university. Extremely unlikely you will obtain any scholarships or other financial aid to study in Japan. What, exactly, were you planning to study in Japan & why study in Japan instead of US (or whichever your country is)?
