Am I able to use an erasable pen on the English Regents exam for the essay portion?

Don't see why not - so long as it doesn't spontaneously erase itself before it is marked. I wouldn't have thought it was a thing to do if there is any risk that your paper would be rejected, but it is up to you.

I would bring both types and then ask when you get there--better to plan ahead then be denied once you get there.
