Virginia is watching her daughter, Amelia, ride the Merry-Go-Round. There are 24 animals on this ride and Amelia is on number 24, the tiger (her favorite). When the ride starts, Virginia is standing opposite from the number 1 animal, the elephant, and it takes 8 seconds for the lion( animal number 9) to reach her. All the animals are in a single file line around Merry-Go Round and they are numbered in clockwise order, which is the same direction in which Merry The Merry Go Round rotates. How long will Virginia have to wait until her daughter reaches her?
