Is college right after high school worth it?

Value of a college (university) degree has been vastly oversold. It depends on what you want to do and successful debt management. If you go to college ... how are you going to pay for it? If qualified, consider the military. Enlisting (no college required) gives you a good move financially to avoid debt because you get a GI Bill education entitlement to pay for college after serving, if you want to pursue a degree. This often overlooked option secures a safe compromise to get paid, benefit from free health care, gain practical “hands-on” life / work experience, and enjoy a healthy “get fit / stay fit” culture with some travel opportunities.

Worth what? It's easier that way- before you have house payments and children. But my students who are a little older and have jobs are more motivated- they know why they're in college- so they can get out of the deadend jobs they're in. But if you get out of the habit of studying, it can be hard to get back into it.
