Probably just too cheap to tip. If you know they aren't going to tip, add a gratuity on their check. Gratuity is a tip already incorporated into the check so they can't not tip. This is not allowed in some states without the restaurant paying a tax(fee) to do this; so just look into if your state taxes you on that first. Otherwise, I'd change restaurants, I was in the same position a few years back (an asian in an asian restaurant). I now work at a nicer American style restaurant and never get people of that sort. Reading back orders help too, but some people will still find an excuse.

Repeat their orders back to them before leaving the table to be perfectly clear. But, some people are jerks and won't tip no matter what.

I'll give you a tip; read the customer's order back to them so there is no misunderstanding. Accept that when dealing with the public you are always encounter some @holes
