Is my Roku stick a dud?
Just bought a Roku streaming stick. Tried to connect to TV, using HDMI port and USB port for power. Light on stick kept flashing a blue light. Tried an online chat. Tried resetting Roku. Tried restarting modem. But - never could get past Roku language screen. I chose English. Hit ok on remote. It took me to a French screen with photo of remote. No way to get past it. Could the stick be a dud? I do plan to return it for credit.

The stick version of these streaming devices have the weakest CPU and the lowest possible RAM they can get away with. That said i'd spring for the Box and be done with it

Don't use the TV USB port for power. Most don't put out enough current.

That is possible. I would exchange it for another and see if you're experiencing the same issue.
