How to make games as software engineering student? They don't teach to make one in University?

pls help..one year ago, i was trying to make a football game. and at that time, i didn't have programming knowledge...now i am getting good marks in programming in my collge. but still i can't create that football gamee(mini not commercial)...how can i start to make softwares and games....pls help
