I'm getting a message that says: Insufficient memory or disk space. Yet I have plenty of disk space? What do I do? I have Word 2010.?

The message says insufficient memory or disk space. You say you have plenty of disk space. So maybe it's insufficient memory. Does it still happen after a reboot. It can also happen if there's a corrupt document, so try opening something else.

How can a Word document be 4GB in size? I encountered similar situation on video file being unencoded intermediaries but Word!? FYI that's because 32 bits, for all the talks about RAM talked it applies equally on file too. The other situation I can think of is Enterprise setting and you are hitting on quota limits.

Do a disk clean-up to put all the data together, you might have too many pieces scattered around and causing this message. Search how to do the clean-up if you are not familiar with it.

Memory? RAM? Add more. HDD? You might seem to have plenty of hard disk space. If your computer have separate system/programs and data drives, it may be possible that your data drive has plenty of free space while your system/program drive is full. With today's Windows, you can never tell what goes into your computer anymore. "They" own it already.
