CD drive makes noise and then ejects disc?

Hi everyone, I am trying to download a CD into my iTunes. I have an external CD drive, and when I put the disc into it, it makes loud rattling-like noises and after a few seconds the disc automatically ejects. I have used the drive for many other CDs and this is the only one that does it. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks!
