For CSX engineers, do you get any time off? How much if any?

In the USA, railroad train crews can work no more than 12 hours in any 24 hour period, and then they MUST have at least 10 hours of undisturbed rest before they can work again.

Like all humans working for railroads you do not work 24 hours a day 365 days a year. You have time off between shifts. you have some days off and after a year you get annual vacation time. For the newer employee the major issue is predicting when the time off between shifts will be. You have the ability to book off for say your wedding day. You will not be paid and may miss a few shifts as others cover for your absence. Your time off might be from 8 in the morning to 6 in the evening. the next week it might be 8 in the evening to 6 in the morning It might be Monday off or Thursday off this week Next week it is Tuesday. The way it has been at the railroad for decades. the time off might be at home or the far away place . Next week just different day and times.
