Why would some people leave their car running and unlock when they go in places?

Not real smart these days. These people are oblivious to the possible bad consequences of their actions. Criminals are looking for "easy" ways to steal cars, and this is one of them. Unfortunately, some people only learn things the hard way -- after it's happened to them.
