What is the best way to get to work each day if you don’t have a car?

I think walking or cycling is best. It's effective transportation, cheap, healthy, and good for the environment too (oh and I forgot way more fun than sitting in traffic - when I commuted by bike, every day I would pass hundreds of cars gridlocked in traffic).

There was a day some time ago when my wife rode her horse to work. It was about two miles--no problem for horse or rider.

That would depend on how far it is to work and what other options are available. fail

Depends on How Far. If over a mile, google ride share. Any public bus. in your area will have one, too. Or the bus. If less, consider bicycle or walking.

That depends on the distance and the options you have of getting there. Before I had my own vehicle, I used public transit most of the time but I also walked and bicycled to several jobs when I had the opportunity.
