Can you make major cotumization to the car you still making payments on?
bo
lease vehicle read your contract first. if a brand new car you might void your warranty if any mods done to engine or transmission. same goes for a used vehicle if you have a warranty on it. have seen that happen a few times. no warranty on the car knock yourself out

If you bought it, yes for minor mods like tires and exhaust. Engines, call the finance company. If you are leasing, no. BUT read your insurance policy. Mods on cars might invalidate your policy.

Custom changes to a car typically reduce its value, not increase it as you might think. Why is that important, you might ask? If your car is stolen or totaled in an accident, an insurance company will only pay you what the car is worth, not what you owe, which might be a lot less for a highly customized vehicle. Furthermore, if you ever want to trade your car, it's going to worth less to a dealer than a car without the changes. You might think that if you spend hundreds or thousands of dollars making changes, that it would automatically increase the value by that much. Not so. A car's value is what other people are willing to pay for it, and most people won't like your changes.
