Will you have to switch banks if you move out of state?

I'm planning to move to Ohio but I bank with Alaska Credit Union. I'm pretty positive they don't have any there. If they do then ignore this lol but if they don't, can I still use the app or should I bank w someone else local?

How many times have you actually gone into the local branch of that bank to do business? If you need a "brick and mortar" bank, then open an account with a new bank, but it's not mandatory. I haven't been inside a bank in years and I still manage to have my paychecks deposited and pay bills without it.

There are many reasons why you may WANT a bank with local branches, but it isn't required. In fact, there are a few banks that don't have actual physical branches at all.

Most people do switch banks if their bank does not have locations nation wide. Most banking can be done on line now. You can deposit a check with your cell phone. Bills can be automatically deducted and check automatically deposited. So you may be able to keep your bank. How easy will it be to get cash? What are the atm fees.
