If I go to a endocrinologist that accepts medicare could medicare deny payment?

I have a medigap plan & see a endocrinologist that accepts it. I want to go because I've been diagnosed with osteoporosis & now also high triglycerides. Does medicare ever send a notice out they aren't going to pay for something. I haven't been on medicare very long, and so far I haven't been denied anything. I guess I'm denied I'll just pay for the Dr. visit because I would like to find out what an endocrinologist can suggest i do with my problems.

Look it up in your Medicare handbook. Just because a provider accepts Medicare doesn't mean that Medicare pays for all services. For example, it doesn't pay for refraction done when a person has an eye exam (my eye exams are otherwise covered because I am diabetic). It didn't cover the blood test I had to determine whether or not I had a vitamin D deficiency (but once that was determined, it does cover follow-up blood tests to check vitamin D levels). I've had Medicare since 2000 and these are the only two procedures I've had which were not covered by Medicare. I seldom get statements from Medicare about what they cover and don't cover - I find out when I get my statements from my supplemental insurance which show what Medicare covered and what my supplement covered. I get a statement from Medicare so seldom that I am shocked when I do. Maybe people who don't have supplemental insurances get all the statements from Medicare that they should get - I wouldn't know.
