Need help with my resume and email cover letter?
A friend of mine has another friend who's hiring at a large grocery chain. Her text to me went like this "my friend Lisa is hiring at xxx, one job for instance is a liquor manager for $xxx, would you be interested?". I said yes because it pays great and it's a good company to work for, but I don't have managerial experience. She said they would train me and said to email my resume. What do I write in the email cover letter since this is not a formal situation? Normally I would tailor my cover letter according to the position, but in this case I don't have any idea what position I'm applying for.

Your job may be to manage the liquor more than to manage people. There could be some scheduling of hours you have to do but most discipline would be up to the store manager.

Cover letters are a thing of the past. Never waste your time on one unless it's required.
