If the allies really defeated Germany in WWI or WWII, then why are Germans still here?

Because the point of war, from the view of civilized people, is to force the aggressor to cease hostilities and return to peace - NOT to exterminate the aggressor.

I am aware that regard for human life has probably declined recently, but winning a war does not mean that the whole population of the defeated country has to be annihilated.

I'm sure there are Germans in various parts of the earth.

Defeating an enemy doesn't mean obliterating them from the face of the earth.

They defeated the military and government of Germany. Same with Japan.

The goal was not to extinguish a people, only to stop their aggression against other countries.

Because they weren't going to ethnic cleanse an entire nation of people they weren't going to act like the Nazis.

Very few defeats in history have resulted in the total annihilation of a people. One near-exception, and that not mostly as a result of conflict, but of disease, was the near total wipeout of native populations in some parts of the Americas by Europeans when Europeans started colonising in the early 1500s. The natives had no natural resistance to European-carried diseases such as smallpox.

The Allies were not monsters like the Nazis and their aim was to destroy the German military so it could no longer fight then make the German population accept surrender. There never was any thought of wiping every German off the face of the world as many Germans were decent people trapped in a country where they could not escape that was behaving terribly. The Nazis ruled with fear and anyone not seen as loyal or was an undesirable were killed off. Over half the population of Germany hated the Nazis and saw them as the bullies they were but to actually say anything against them was a death sentence. 70.000 German citizens were killed by the Gestapo for being anti Nazi. Even listening to British radio was dangerous and could get you killed, but those who opposed the Nazis used to secretly listen to the BBC as it was the only war news that could be trusted to be true as the German radio stations made out that Germany was always winning.

They defeated Naziism in WW2, it's a far-right political view, and even to this day there are no powerful far-right political parties (they get few votes), so they defeated an "idea" in Germany, not literally all the German people

Chill, all are good ones. No bad ones at all.
